K-dramas have an obsession with beautiful cafes — and so do we. This guide takes you through the most photogenic cafe filming locations across Korea, complete with what dramas were filmed there.
Korea's Cafe Culture & K-Drama Connection
If there's one thing K-dramas have taught us, it's that every romantic confession, tearful breakup, and chance encounter happens in a beautifully lit cafe. Korea's cafe culture is world-class, with thousands of unique, concept cafes spread across every city. Many of these have become pilgrimages for drama fans.
Pro tip: Visit on weekday mornings to avoid crowds and get the best photos. Many cafe filming spots are extremely popular on weekends. Also, always check if the cafe is still operating — some iconic spots have unfortunately closed.
Planning Your Cafe Tour
We recommend grouping cafes by neighborhood to maximize your time. In Seoul, Mapo-gu, Seongsu-dong, and Insadong are dense with drama-famous cafes. In Busan, head to Gamcheon Culture Village and the Haeundae area. Allow at least 2–3 days to do a proper cafe tour in Seoul alone.
