About This Location

[Description] Wonhyo Bridge is a prominent cantilever-style bridge spanning the Han River, connecting Yongsan-gu and Yeouido. Completed in 1981, it is widely admired for its elegant, slender silhouette and the gentle curves of its concrete supports. Unlike some of the more utilitarian bridges, Wonhyo Bridge has a cinematic quality and gained international fame as a key filming location for the acclaimed South Korean monster film, The Host (Gwoemul). The bridge offers one of the best vantage points to view the futuristic skyline of Yeouido, including the iconic 63 Building and the Parc.1 towers. Its wide pedestrian walkways make it a favorite for evening strolls and photography, especially during the sunset hours when the city lights begin to shimmer on the river. As a cultural landmark, it serves as a serene link between the historic Yongsan district and the bustling financial hub of Yeouido, providing a peaceful escape for city dwellers and tourists alike. [How to Get There] The bridge is easily accessible via the Seoul Metro. To access the Yeouido side, take Line 5 to Yeouinaru Station (Exit 3) and walk about 10 minutes toward the 63 Building through Yeouido Hangang Park. To access the Yongsan side, take Line 1 to Yongsan Station (Exit 1) or Line 4 to Sinyongsan Station (Exit 3) and take a short 5-minute bus ride (e.g., Blue Bus No. 505) to the "Wonhyo Bridge Entrance" station. Many city buses stop at the "Yeouido Middle School" or "63 Building" stations, which are located right at the foot of the bridge.
